Vytautas Mineral SPA among the finalists for the title of best hotel in Eastern Europe

2019-02-18  |  17-15

Vytautas Mineral SPA, a Birštonas-based wellness and relaxation complex, has won recognition at the 2019 World Spa and Wellness Awards. It is also the only Lithuanian facility competing in the finals for the title of the Best Hotel in Eastern Europe. The best hotel will be announced in London on 24 February during the awards gala ceremony.

Reflecting on this impressive feat, Vytautas Mineral SPA’s Marketing and Communications Manager Eglė Preikšaitytė says, “The fact that we are in the finals is not a coincidence but rather a result of our consistent work. We always put forth our best effort to ensure that our hotel clients are surrounded by beautiful interiors and exteriors, as well as highly professional staff. Vytautas Mineral SPA is a unique and aesthetically appealing active minerals facility where experts offer innovative methods for the use of minerals.

“Our hotel is the only one in Lithuania located near a source of youthfulness – the Sofia mineral source, which contains as many as 70 different minerals. Water with a composition like ours is only otherwise found in the Dead Sea, and we therefore do everything to take advantage of nature’s unique gift to offer our guests solutions to relieve stress and achieve ultimate relaxation and wellness. It is important to note that Vytautas Mineral SPA offers an integrated use of services based on our clients’ individual needs – just like people’s fingerprints are unique, so too are their requirements for regaining energy and restoring peace of mind.

“The evaluation put forth by the international jury confirms that by consistently implementing our philosophy that each of our hotel guests is unique and that the attention we give to each of them must be personalised, we are heading in the right direction. We are also sending a message that Lithuania can compete in terms of service and quality with larger countries practicing longer traditions in the field of wellness tourism. We sometimes not only compete, but also win, too.”

Starting in 2012, hotels taking part in the awards – which are held in the UK by the Professional Beauty Group – compete in five regional categories: i.e. Western Europe and Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, South and North America, Asia and Australia. Hotels in each regional category are evaluated based on service customisation, the professional skills of staff, as well as interior and exterior design solutions that promote relaxation.

Spa hotels nominated in the Eastern Europe category of the 2019 World Spa and Wellness Awards include:

  • Grand Hotel: Lviv, Ukraine
  • Mandara Spa: Moscow, Russia
  • Soma Spa: Crete, Greece
  • Vytautas Mineral SPA: Birštonas, Lithuania
  • Willow Stream Spa: Istanbul, Turkey

In November 2018 in Moscow, the Perfect SPA Awards were given to the best spa and wellness centres in the Baltics and Russia. The expert team of Vytautas Mineral SPA was declared the winner in 4 of 12 categories. Laura Janušonienė, lecturer and judge for the International Massage Championships, was the winner in the Perfect SPA Manager category; Darius Dabrovolskas, chef of Vytautas Mineral SPA’s MOON restaurant, was the winner in the Perfect Cuisine category; and Vytautas Mineral SPA was named the absolute winner in the Perfect Resort SPA 2018 and Perfect SPA 2018 categories.

In 2017, Darius Dabrovolskas, member of the Lithuanian National Chef team, won in the Perfect Cuisine category, and Vytautas Mineral SPA won in the Perfect Design/Project category for the exceptional interiors and exterior of its facilities at the Perfect SPA international awards.
