Vytautas Mineral SPA, a Birštonas-based wellness and relaxation complex, was selected as the best Lithuanian hotel in the spa category at the annual L'Officiel Baltics Beauty Awards in Latvia held on 27 November.
Four hotels competed for the award in the final stage of the Best Spa Complexes category in the Baltic Region:
- Vytautas Mineral SPA (Birštonas, Lithuania)
- Lielupe SPA & Wellness by Semarah Hotels (Jurmala, Latvia)
- Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga (Riga, Latvia)
- Grand Poet by Semarah (Riga, Latvia)
The hotels were evaluated on two criteria – Best Interior Design and Style, and Best Spa Spirit – by the international commission, which included two Lithuanians – Gintarė Gurevičiūtė and Neringa Čukinienė. After some deliberation, the commission members presented the award to Vytautas Mineral SPA.

In addition, I can personally praise and congratulate Vytautas Mineral SPA for its wonderful masseurs; they are true specialists in their field, as massage is a very personal matter. Therefore, ‘feeling’ every spa guest is not only a technical but also a very demanding job. So it’s no surprise that this hotel and its staff received the award for the best hotel in the spa category,” says L'Officiel Baltics Beauty Award commission member and make-up specialist Neringa Čukinienė.
According to Eglė Preikšaitytė, Head of Marketing and Communications at Vytautas Mineral SPA, this award represents even more recognition of the consistent work each hotel employee contributes to the guest experience.
“We are of course delighted with this award – after all, it is a sign of appreciation of the work our team does on a regular basis. This is not the first award and sign of appreciation. Vytautas Mineral SPA was also recognised at the 2019 World Spa and Wellness Awards – it was the only hotel in Lithuania that competed in the finals for the title of the Best Hotel in Eastern Europe.
In November 2018, the Perfect Spa awards – the best spa and wellness centres in the Baltic Region and Russia – were given out in Moscow. The expert team of Vytautas Mineral SPA triumphed in four of the 12 categories it was nominated in. The winner of the Perfect Spa Manager category was lecturer, judge of international massage championships, and spa centre Manager Laura Janušonienė, the Chef of Vytautas Mineral SPA’s Moon restaurant Darius Dabrovolskas won in the Perfect Cuisine category, while Vytautas Mineral SPA was declared the absolute winner in the Perfect Resort Spa 2018 and Perfect Spa 2018 categories.
In the 2017 Perfect Spa international competition, Darius Dabrovolskas, a member of the National Chefs Team and Chef of the Moon restaurant, won in the Perfect Cuisine category, and Vytautas Mineral SPA won the Perfect Design/Project category for its exceptional interior and exterior design.
